A Method of Fast Application of the Fuzzy PID Algorithm Using Industrial Control Device

چکیده

Industry applications mainly use linear PID algorithms might deliver an insufficient performance dealing with nonlinear operating systems. A fuzzy PID controller results in a nonlinear control surface which can be adjusted to a controlled plant by rule based modification, nonlinear membership function application and inference rule selection. The tuning process is one of the most difficult steps in fuzzy PID designing and discourages most practical applications. A simplification of the fuzzy PID tuning process is described in this article. The presented methodology allows fast transformation from a classic PID algorithm into a fuzzy PID. A proposed algorithm was tested on a programmable PLC which is a typical industrial implementation platform. Temperature stabilization was chosen as the controlled plant and some experimental results are described. The conclusions contain directions for similar real time fuzzy PID implementations.
